Sweet & Erotic ~ Kinky & Hot

Fright Night Blog Hop Oct 24-31

Happy Halloween!!

I’m a lover of paranormal books and movies. I have many favorites, but I can’t say any truly scare me. My curiosity about supernatural creatures supersedes any fear. However, I can say there are some rather gory paranormal books and movies. One movie that always sticks out in my mind is American Werewolf in London. Yes, it’s a movie from the 1980s with old special effects, but at the time the movie came out it really made me cringe. The werewolf attacks were gory and the change from man to wolf was gross. Yet I watched with fascination, again and again. Great movie!

The original Halloween movie was one of my favorites too. Although it doesn’t have any paranormal creatures, I enjoyed the movie. I don’t know why I liked watching teenagers making stupid decisions with a serial killer on the loose, but I watched the movie every year. The soundtrack was good and story kept me intrigued even though I knew what was going to happen. I didn’t find it a scary movie, but perhaps a learning one. There are lessons to be learned from those dumb teenage decisions. LMAO

Do you have a favorite scary book or movie? If so, what is it and why does it scare you?

Leave your answer in the comments along with your email address and you will be entered to win an The Deadly Stripper ebook from the Sexy and Damned Series and Passion in the Sky from the Diary of a Free Woman series.

By November 4th, I will use random.org to select a winner and I will notify the winner.

  1. My favorite horror read is Ryu Murakami’s Piercing because this novel isn’t “boo” scary; it’s more like “set your teeth on edge for days and make you never want to be close to anyone for the rest of your life” scary.

  2. The Tell Tale Heart by Poe, which is really a story, not a book. It doesn’t really scare me now as an adult, but my dad first read it to me when I was 4 or 5 complete with spooky voice.

Nightmare on Elm Street (original version) because Freddy was nearly unstoppable. Especially when he tricked you into believing you were awake and you were actually still sleeping.

The Shining by Stephen King is one of the scariest books I have read. He really knows how to write a good horror story.

  13. My favorite scary book is NOS4A2 by Joe Hill. It combines Christmas and vampires. The combo creeps me out. Especially when retail stores start putting out Christmas merchandise in October. I am twitchy for months 😉
